Destiny is Calling : Episode 1 I shuttered as the cold , ocean water splashed against my back. I shook the feeling off , i had to focus. I paddled out further into the ocean , avoiding the waves until the perfect moment. I saw my twin brother , Justin , smirking. He thought he would win. He thought that beating his little sister would be a piece of cake. I shook my head and laughed. He's always so competitive with me. When i looked back towards the waves I smiled. It was time to wipe that smirk right of my brother's face. I turned my board towards the beach and stood up carefully , making sure i kept my balance. I held out my arm , letting my fingertips glide through the inside of the wave. "Go , Destiny !" My best friends Sarah and Lauren cheered when i got back to the shore.They ran up and hugged me but jumped back immediatly."Your all wet,"Lauren complained."Really ? I thought i would be dry after surfing in the ocean." I teased.Sarah laughed ,"You should've seen you brother's face when he saw you ride that huge wave ! It was priceless."They screamed as I shook my head from side to side, trying to get the water out of my hair."Scared of a little water ?" I smirked. They stuck their tongues out at me.Lauren rolled her eyes. "So, we are gunna head over your house for the barbaque. You coming ?""No. I have to go to Austin's football game." I told them whle slipping on my shorts and a tank top over my bikini. " I'll meet up with you guys after his game. Okay ?" I put on my socks and black & white high-top converse."Sure. We'll tell your grandfather that you'll be a little late." Sarah paused. "Destiny, did you ever consider my brother as more than your best friend?"I glanced up at her,shocked. Truthfully, i have thought about it. I've known him since we were in dipers. We did everything together. Actaully, he was the one who taught me how to surf ,skateboard, swim, and ride a bike. I've had a crush on him for 4 years now,since we were 13. But i don't think he feels the same way. And altough i would trust Sarah and Lauren with my life , if i told them i liked Austin...i don't know what would happen. So i just laughed ,"Austin ?" Pshh..come on guys. he's my best friend.""Yes,but-""I'll see you guys later. Im gunna be late if I don't leave now." I ran off towards Austin's game."She is so in love with Austin." Lauren laughed."Definately."Sarah smiled.______________________________"Destiny !"Austin smiled as he ran up to me and lifted me up into the air."Austin!" I hugged him. "Your all sweaty."I teased.He laughed."My team just won the game and the only thing you can say is 'Your sweaty' ?" He teased back."Congratulations."I smiled. "Much better. Now come one, we have to get to your barbaque before your grandpa gets too angry." He took my hand and dragged me to his jeep."Oh come on,Austin. What's the rush? He doesn't care if we're late or not. He only cares if Justin is safe and still breathing."I watched him as he took off his football gear and instead of changing into a different shirt he put his football jersey on. I turned around when he went to put on his jean shorts, and his Nikes. "Destiny. He loves you , even if you can't see it." He came over to my side of the car and wrapped his arms around my waist to pull me into another hug."I wish that were true." I mumbled under my breath.He kissed my forehead lighty."It is true." He opened up the door of his Jeep and closed it once i got in the passenger seat. "So, did you beat your brother today ?" He asked, knowing that changing the subject would make me feel better.I smiled."Of course. Wish you could've seen it.""Me too. Next time I'll be there. I promise.""Pinky promise?" I held out my pinky,waiting for his to wrap around mine to make the promise official."Pinky promise."He laughed."Now let's go." He started up his car and drove in the direction of my house. I threw my hands up in the air, enjoying the feeling of the wind blowing my soft,bouncy curls. I looked over at the ocean after hearing a strange noise coming from the clear,water. And that's when i saw it. A whale lifting it's tail out of the water and slapping it right back down. I heard the whale calling for it's family.My concentration was broken when Austin placed his hand on mine. ''Are you okay?""You don't hear that ?" I asked him confused."Hear what?""That,"I pointed out at the ocean but the whale was gone. "Nevermind." I shook my head confused. I looked out at the ocean once more. Something was wrong here. Why was I the only one who heard and saw the whale ? Maybe Justin had heard it too ? I mean he was the whale rider....wasn't he ?
